Why did I have to mess with it? It was up and running and perfect. Wrote a couple of posts, and then thought it would be so much easier if the old blog redirected to the new one, so messed with it. Only I made the new blog redirect to the old one… SIGH

Anyway, I found out about this memorial thing on Thursday and was nicely asked to reschedule the birthday party. Huh? Sorry I don’t think so. I have the invites out, the cake ordered, the dinner bought, and so forth. For the last 3 years (since we lived here) we have always scheduled Nina’s birthday at the nearest Saturday. No it isn’t the anniversary of Carrie’s death, nor her birthday. It is however, the Saturday before Nina’s birthday.

Now I am thinking I am the meanest person alive, because really I don’t want them to come anyway. To me (maybe I am just really weird) her birthday party is about her anyway. The last thing she would choose is more people coming, I already got in trouble because she only wanted ONE friend. Evidently her friends don’t like each other and that causes way to much conflict for her. I keep telling her that her friends are going to have to deal with people they don’t like all the time. She says “but mom, they won’t play with each other and it gets exhausting if I have to keep changing who I am playing with.” (My big gonna be 9 year old says exhausting…)

1. I carry around my phone everywhere, so I can call my kids and ask them to get me stuff. (I highly recommend a phone with the option to call the other phones in the home.) I hardly ever have to get my own glass of water anymore.

2. I taught Nina to run the microwave so I don’t have to make her lunch. (However, in my defense if she won’t eat a sandwich for lunch…)

3. I get tired of looking for Nina’s socks (which she leaves where ever she is when she takes them off), I just buy her new ones ever month or two.

Books this semester? Not to bad only about $400. <sigh> So I have been ultra busy. Took Dust and the other crew members lunch today, Dust wanted pizza hut. OUCH, $80 for 4 large pizzas and a medium! I don’t remember them being that expensive, but I guess. So I am going to take a break and take the girls to the lake to go swimming later. That should break up the being on the phone, filling out paperwork and all that.

Heaven gets registered for classes tomorrow. I am not ready for her to be a high school student. I have talked to her about the fact she is going to have to help with dinner a lot. One of my classes doesn’t yet (as of yesterday) tell me which day it is on, but the others include dinner time Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Anyway, that is about all that is new…

I had fun, but I feel my age today. It is obvious to me I am not a teenager anymore. I guess I am not really old, but I think of all those people that do it all week long, don’t take a break, camp there, and are quite a bit older than me. WOW… I feel like I need a vacation for my vacation, just makes me wonder how they feel…

I actually stayed home yesterday, and I am done for the week. I just didn’t make a post because I was tired and wore out. So that is about it, one Sturgis Rally down, and now it is time to catch up on my laundry and stuff. The girls didn’t do horrible with stuff (specially not Monday and Tuesday when they weren’t here), but they didn’t quite keep the house cleaning where I would have liked to see it…

Yesterday we went to the Buffalo Chip. Mainly because they had Lynyrd Skynyrd and I really wanted to see the band. Theory of a Deadman opened for them, and they weren’t bad. Not really my kind of music, as it was a bit heavy. However, their music onstage was set up wrong. The lead singer has a nice voice, but most of the time you couldn’t hear a word he was saying. The music drowned him out, it was up to loud or his was turned down to much. I am not sure what the band that played in the middle of those two is. They were hilarious though. Adult hilarious though, but great laughs.

As for Skynyrd, they sound SO good on stage. Anyone that loves their music should go see them in concert. They didn’t sing a couple of my favorite songs, but it was a really good performance, and they were up there quite a while.

Now the Buffalo Chip by itself; how do I say this? They suck! I haven’t been there since I was 19 or 20ish. It was basically a huge field with a stage. It was really fun. If we would have just went for the concert it wouldn’t have been bad, but we went early. They had a schedule of events, that you can’t find because they don’t announce anything. Waiting was boring. They also have tons of vendors, can you say taco bell; 2 bean burritos, 1 hard shell taco almost $6? I know they need to up their prices a bit to make up for the fact they went all the way out there and stuff. However, more than double? Greedy! Anyway, I wouldn’t recommend the chip, unless you want to see a concert. In which case go to the concert don’t go early. We were planning on staying the night there (we had day passes), but it was SO much fun I just wanted to go home…

Oh and the people at the chip? Mostly rude. People (not to smart in my opinion) parked their bikes in the crowd near the stage (well before the crowd gathered), people threw beer cans on them and stuff. I was so surprised it isn’t something I have seen anywhere else. I had three different people dump beer on me, and while these I am pretty sure were accidents, no apologizing at all. I was very disappointed in the group of people, they just weren’t polite at all… (Some who don’t do this won’t understand as the movies show bikers as a rude bunch. Until yesterday, I had never met a rude biker. Crude yes, but not rude!)

That is pretty much my last couple of days. I might skip out and not go today. I am not as young as I used to be and I feel pretty wore out. We will see though

The girls and I walked to the lake last night. It was so warm, and really fun. We took Snickers and Girr this last time, and they were wonderfully wore out by the time we got home. About a quarter of a mile from home the girls were wore out though.

I didn’t think it was going to be fun at first because Nina was crying (I made her wear shoes and socks, I am such an ogre.) When we got to the lake Nina “accidentally” fell in. Lucky for her it was a warm enough night she didn’t get cold on the walk home. She is so goofy…

I woke up this morning by ripping one of my “healing” blisters off my lip. Which I highly do not recommend, because let me tell you, if it pulls you out of a dead sleep… Most likely it doesn’t feel good.
